Jeffrey M. Luetkenhaus is a native of O’Fallon, Mo., and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Missouri Western State University and a Master's of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Design, with a secondary in Technical Direction from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he received the coveted Mordecai Gorelik Award for Excellence in Scenic Design. Before moving back to the midwest, Luetkenhaus was the scenic designer and technical director for The Hickory Community Theatre and Lenoir-Rhyne College in North Carolina, properties master for The Texas Shakespeare Festival, and scenic designer and scenic artist for McLeod Summer Playhouse. His work has also been seen in Missouri,Wisconsin and West Virginia. Some of Luetkenhaus' most recent production credits include;Taming of The Shrew, A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to the Forum, My Fair Lady, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

He is a member of The United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT), American College Theatre Festival (ACTF), Alpha Psi Omega (APO) honorary theatre fraternity, The South East Theatre Conference (SETC) and Phi Kappa Phi (PKP).  One of his research interests is scene painting at the turn of the century. He has, in cooperation with Lance Brockman, done documentation work of many Scottish Rite Masonic Temples and their scene- painted ritual backdrops. He has presented his work at ACTF, PKP and SETC conferences.

Luetkenhaus enjoys doing an occasional costume or lighting design to spice things up a bit. In his spare time, he takes pleasure in reading, watching old movies, fishing and playing with his dogs (Bubba and Max).
