Dr. Debra Lee-DiStefano was involved in many things while a student at Southeast Missouri State University, including the Multi-Cultural Association, Japanese Student Association and the Malaysian Student Association.
Julie Weathers is a professor in the Department of Agriculture. A native of Lubbock, Texas, her childhood on a small farm is what made her want to study animal science. She earned her Bachelor of Science in animal science and meat science, her Master of Science in animal science and reproductive physiology and her Ph.D. in animal science and reproductive physiology all from Texas Tech University.
Margaret Waterman’s love for education has taken her all around the world teaching faculty development workshops for teachers in the United States, Peru, India, South Africa and Singapore.
Dr. Jai Dahiya has been teaching physics at Southeast for more than 20 years in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics. He has won the College of Science and Mathematics Research Award and the College of Science and Mathematics PRIDE award three times each. He has also won the Faculty Merit Award in 2001.
The art of dance has taken Michelle Contrino literally around the world and, at present, has landed her a role as a faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University.
Several Southeast Missouri State University students, under the direction of Peter Chanthanakone, assistant professor of graphics and multimedia, have produced Southeast’s first 3D animated short film, “Death to the Different.”
