Welcome to the Office of the Provost
Just what is a Provost? I’m glad you asked. The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University, responsible for oversight and planning for all academic programs and academic support functions of the University. But like all others on the Southeast team, our office is here to serve our students who have made this their University of First Choice and to extoll the virtues of this great institution.
Neither of those are difficult tasks. Southeast is fortunate to have a great student body, destined for success in the fields they have chosen. And, are you familiar with those fields of study we offer? Southeast is a fully accredited university with more than 200 areas of study. We boast nationally accredited programs like the Donald L. Harrison College of Business, our College of Education, our Engineering Physics, Nursing, and Industrial Technology programs to name just a few.
We're very proud of the high quality, affordable education we offer at Southeast. Yes, when it comes to Southeast’s academics I could write paragraphs more, but I’ll let you continue exploring our site and discover all that Southeast has to offer. We’ve been called a “hidden treasure;” however, I prefer to think of us as more humble than hidden. But, just ask us about what a great place Southeast Missouri State is, and be prepared to listen for awhile--we have much to share!
Enjoy your visit to www.semo.edu, and if our office can be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
