Core Continuing Grant, Southeast Missouri State University

Overview:

The Funding for Results (FFR) Core Continuing Grant (CCG) program will provide funds to support qualified projects for five or more years. These grants will be awarded only rarely, and they will sustain programs that have demonstrated value to the entire university and can be supported for under ($10,000) per year. There must be evidence for the quality of the program and its relevance to FFR goals based on previous FFR support in the Implementation or University Initiative programs. In addition to evidence for the value of the program to the university, there must be compelling evidence that other sources of university funding are not available.

Goal 1:

The primary goal of the Core Continuing Grant program is to provide continuous funding for programs of demonstrated value to the entire university. The evidence for the value of the program will come from the following sources.

Previously successful FFR Implementation grants or University Initiatives projects.
Evidence that the program will be of value to the entire university, not just a particular department or college.
Approval of Core Continuing status by a 2/3 majority of the FFR committee.

Goal 2:

Another goal of the CCG program is to eliminate the need for successful programs meeting the strict criteria for CCG funding to be repeatedly proposed, defended, and subjected to full review. Once a program has been approved for CCG support, re-application for funding is not necessary.

Goal 3:

It is the goal of the CCG program to bring about institutionalization of very successful activities. To this end, the FFR committee will inform the university of the programs that have been approved for CCG support and formally request university support within five years of CCG approval. In addition, successful CCG programs must demonstrate that alternative university funding for the program has been seriously pursued.

Goal 4:

Because this is a Funding for Results program, it is imperative that evaluative measures of the success of the program continue to be administered and reported to the FFR committee.
