NSF grant awarded to Biology Department
The Department of Biology has recently been awarded a $50,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. This is a planning grant for the formation of a Research Collaborative Network in Undergraduate Biology Education focused on Case Study and Problem Based Learning approaches in Biology Education.
The idea is that this grant will support the development of a proposal for a larger, multiyear project. The funding brings together seven experts from around the United States to planning meetings. It also funded a graduate project assistant here at Southeast, and fortunately a graduate student in the TESOL program has been selected to fill this position.
