Southeast Public Radio Adds Independent Music Program to Schedule
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., April 17, 2008 -- Southeast Public Radio (SEPR) announces a new independent music program called "The Elliot Potter Show," which airs weekdays from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Hosted by Southeast Missouri State University student announcers and SEPR staff, "The Elliot Potter Show" features new indie rock, alt-country, singer-songwriters, and folk music. Commonly heard artists on the new program include Radiohead, Wilco, Basia Bulat, The Decemberists, Feist and Josh Ritter.
SEPR is the National Public Radio affiliate for Southeast Missouri.
SEPR’s Jacob McCleland says, “The format for 'The Elliot Potter Show' is similar to the direction that National Public Radio is taking.” Many of the musicians heard on 'Elliot Potter' are reviewed on 'Morning Edition' or 'All Things Considered'; some have performed as in-studio guests. This is an opportunity for us to reach out to a large – and growing - audience that is curious about new independent music.”
SEPR has an accompanying independent music blog at www.southeastpublicradio.blogspot.com.
