Dr. Gordon earned his doctorate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He also holds an MBA and a Masters Degree in Economics. His undergraduate degree was in accounting from University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, where he was also admitted as a C.P.A. He is an active researcher, having had over 40 articles published, as well as having served as President of the Marketing Management Association, Association of Collegiate Marketing Education and the North American Management Society.

Dr. Gordon is also Director of International Programs, and among other activities, takes groups of students on International study tours. Now in its 22nd year, these programs are offered in January, Spring Break, and May/June to Europe. In addition, he has been involved in developing exchange opportunities for Southeast students to spend a semester studying in numerous countries -- Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Spain, France, Mexico, etc., as well as internships in Britain, Germany, Ghana, and Australia.
