Ismatilla "Matt" Mardanov is an Associate Professor of Management in the Department of Management and Marketing in the Donald L. Harrison College of Business (AACSB accredited) at Southeast Missouri State University since 2003.
Dr. Mardanov earned his doctoral degree in Strategic Management from Mississippi State University (AACSB accredited). He also has a doctoral degree in Political Economy from Lomonosov Moscow State University, a primer university in Russia. At Mississippi State University he taught Business Policy and Strategy and Cross-Cultural Management.
At Southeast Missouri State University Dr. Mardanov taught and teaches a graduate course BA650 Strategic Decision-Making, and undergraduate courses BA490 Business Policy and Strategy; MG301 Principles of Management; MG362 Management Skills; MG356 Human Resource Management; and MG462 Organization Theory and Design. In Uzbekistan he taught a course on Planning of Social and Economic Development. Dr. Mardanov uses an experiential approach to instruction.
Dr. Mardanov has been recognized for excellence in research by the European Applied Research Conference. He authored a book. He published research articles in such journals as International Business and Economics Research Journal; Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship, Journal of Leadership Studies; Journal of Organization and Leadership Studies; Journal of Planning (Russia); Economist (Russia); Journal of Agriculture (Uzbekistan); Journal of Cotton (Russia). He also published many papers in national and international refereed conference proceedings. His research interests are foreign direct investments and country risk analysis; political economy of globalization; democracy, development, and business; leader-member exchange, satisfaction with supervision, job satisfaction, and turnover; as well as workplace bullying.
