Jacob McCleland, host and producer on KRCU Radio, Southeast Missouri State University’s National Public Radio (NPR) station, was honored with an Employee Recognition Award representing the administration/professional staff. His nomination represents the University’s priority of communication.

Jaime Mayfield, administrative assistant in the Department of Psychology, received an Employee Recognition Award as a Clerical/Technical employee. Her nomination falls under two of the University priorities -- Academic and Student Experience, and People.

Dr. Frank Barrios, Dean, College of Liberal Arts, was recently selected as the 2011 Executive of the Year for the Girardot Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) at its annual Executive Recognition Banquet on October 18. “Dr. Barrios is the executive every boss should strive to be and the boss every administrative professional wants to work for," said Carol Kitchen, CPS/CAP, senior administrative assistant for the College of Liberal Arts. IAAP is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 28,000 members and affiliates. Seven alumni and one faculty member will receive Merit Awards presented by the Southeast Missouri State University Alumni Association Oct. 21at the Copper Dome Society/Merit Recognition Program during the Homecoming celebration.

KRCU public radio at Southeast Missouri State University was recently awarded a second grant from the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF) in support of the station’s local Discover Nature program.

Southeast Missouri State University has been awarded five grants totaling $39,877 from the Missouri Arts Council (MAC).
