Southeast Missouri State University

Themed Housing & Learning Communities

The Health Care community is available to all students who are affiliated with the College of Health and Human Services which will be located on the 5th floor of Vandiver Hall. This themed community is centered on promoting an environment that is supported academically and socially with those students who share a common interest in the Health Care field. First-year students and upper-class students within the Health and Human Service majors will participate in organized activities sponsored by the office of Residence Life with opportunities to collaborate with faculty and current health care professionals. Any student who desires to participate in the Health Care Themed Community must indicate their preference for this community though the Contract for University Housing assignment process. To sign up for this community, returning students should participate in the Priority Sign-Up process.  New students should indicate their preference for this community on their Contract for University Housing and then fill out and return the application that they receive in the mail. There is no extra cost associated with the Themed Community Program; however, students are expected to sign and agree to a set of expectations for living in a Themed Community.  This will be available at the time of Priority Sign-Up (returning students) or included in the application packet (new students). If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Residence Life at (573) 651-2274 or learningcommunities@semo.edu
