Heather Brake joined the University in 2006 and has been a member of the Office of Residence Life staff since the 2009-2010 academic year during which time she served as a Graduate Hall Director. Upon graduation in May 2010 with her Masters degree, Heather accepted a position as a full-time Hall Director with the department. In 2012 Heather was promoted to the Area Coordinator position for her successful work in the residence halls at Southeast. Heather has previously served as the Hall Director of Dearmont Hall and Myers Hall.

Heather is a Jefferson College and Southeast Missouri State University graduate, earning her Associate of Arts degree from Jefferson College and her Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration degree from Southeast.

Outside of the office, Heather is the Advisor for the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and TOMs. Also, Heather serves as a UI100 instructor at Southeast.
