2013 Employer/Recruiter Information for St. Louis Interview/Networking Days

STLInterviewDays_02_2009

The Donald L. Harrison College of Business, Southeast Missouri State University, will be hosting the Tenth Annual St. Louis Interview/Networking Days on Sept. 26-27, 2013. The general format will be similar to past events, and will be held at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza, 7730 Bonhomme, St. Louis.

A reception will be held on Thursday evening, Sept. 26, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Individual interviews will be held on Friday, Sept. 27 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Interview/Networking Days provide an opportunity for St. Louis-area employers to interview Southeast business students for entry-level positions and/or internships. We bring them to you so you don't have to travel to our campus in Cape Girardeau. Typically 350-450 interviews are conducted each year, resulting in a significant number of job placements and internships.

If you have not participated in the past and wish to receive notifications of this yearly event, please complete and submit your information here, or e-mail Ms. Dana McAdams at dmcadams@semo.edu, or call (573) 651-2112.

Schedule of Events:
Student resumes are collected in advance and published in a book or on USB, and sent to pre-registered companies around September 4. After reviewing the resumes, companies submit a list of students they wish to interview and an interview schedule is developed (coordinating times with students' schedules). Interviews are held in 30-minute increments on Friday, with an hour break for lunch (provided), as well as 30-minute breaks mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Interview Days provides an excellent opportunity for one-on-one indepth interaction that is unavailable at career fairs. Companies have the opportunity to pre-select and choose students they want to interview. Harrison College of Business personnel are available throughout the event to provide assistance.

Company representatives can meet and interact with all interested students at the reception on Thursday evening. This reception provides an opportunity for students and employers to meet and network informally, and you may find additional students to consider for an interview. Some companies bring a team with them on Thursday evening (often Southeast graduates they hope will connect with students to generate interest in their firm). A list of students who have expressed interest in your company is provided with the resume book/CD and with your interview schedule. We have found that companies are usually interested in talking with anyone expressing an interest in their company and we want to give them that opportunity if they desire.

Your company’s web site will be posted for students to review and gain further information about your company before the interview. If you have job positions you are looking to fill, just send us a job description with your registration form and we will be happy to distribute this to students you select for interviews.
