The Start-Up Madness Business Plan Tournament is an exciting competition created to harness the entrepreneurial potential of the students at Southeast Missouri State University. Over the course of the Spring Semester, both individual students and student-led teams have the opportunity to create and fine tune a business plan for their ideal business.
Interested individuals/teams should register by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1st. The business plan template should be completed and submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12. On April 19th, the Elite Eight will be announced. All submissions will be judged individually by a panel of judges, and the results will be revealed at the Awards Ceremony to be held on Wednesday, April 24th.
The Start-Up Madness Business Plan Tournament is sponsored by the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Southeast students who have great for-profit or non-profit ideas, and are looking to capitalize on it! Any currently-enrolled student at Southeast can participate in this contest individually or with a team.
Competitors in the event have the opportunity to win valuable start-up funding including: Grand Prize $2,500, 2nd Place $1,500, and 3rd Place $1,000 ...and Start-Up Assistance.
The winners of the competition will also receive valuable assistance in the form of a “Customized Launch Services Package” from the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. These packages could include personalized coaching, business incubation, and mentoring services, just to name a few.
