Dr. Beard teaches a variety of courses in the areas of health and physical education. His primary teaching interest lies in the area of preparing students for professional careers in physical education and coaching. Dr. Beard has more than 20 years of experience in public school administration. His experience in the area of supervision of physical education teachers is extensive. In addition, he has expertise in a variety of individual and team sports, including martial arts and outdoor recreational sports. He is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) and has provided community service as a youth baseball and softball coach.
