Southeast Missouri State University is a place where you can educate and exercise your mind as well as maintain the fitness of your body. As part of Recreational Sports, the Fitness & Wellness Program assists you in achieving a higher quality of life by providing a variety of health awareness and educational opportunities and programs. You may take charge of your own wellness by participating in a Noon Walk, investing in a personal trainer, taking a yoga class, getting a massage or registering for one of the many workshops or events scheduled throughout the school year.

Group Fitness
Group fitness classes are located in the Student Recreation Center Aerobics Studio unless indicated otherwise on the schedule. The fee for an entire semester of group fitness classes is $25 and the fee for an individual class is just $3. Classes are available for all fitness levels and begin for the Fall 2003 semester on August 25, 2003 and end December 12, 2003. Wellsaid Workshops
Wellsaid Workshops are given to train you in various aspects of health and wellness (such as Red Cross CPR training) and to help improve your nutrition and exercise habits as well as various other aspects of your life. The F.I.T. Program
The F.I.T. Program is a comprehensive fitness and nutrition program to motivate individuals to build a basic knowledge of fitness and nutrition to assist them in developing a lifestyle of healthy choices. The staff of the F.I.T. program are prepared to assess your general fitness and nutrition status and design safe physical activity programs and nutrition plans utilizing goal setting, exercise, nutrition science principles and safety guidelines.
Massage Therapy
If you would like to ease your stress and tension level by receiving a therapeutic massage, a certified massage therapist is ready to help you every other Tuesday night in the Student Recreation Center at great discount prices! Call the Student Recreation Center office at 651-2105 to make an appointment. The student price is $20 for half an hour and $35 for a full hour of relaxing massage therapy.
