College of Education Advising Center

The College of Education offers students a nationally and state-recognized field-based/competency-based teacher education program while preparing and sustaining leaders in teaching, counseling, and educational leadership. The College’s Advising Center strives to serve students in ways that can assist them in gaining knowledge of course prerequisites, enrollment procedures, differences between and among majors, and requirements specific  to the College of Education such as the College Basic Academic Subjects Exam (CBASE) and the Praxis (the National Teacher's Examination).

Services Provided:

  • Disperse general information about teacher education programs, degree requirements and admission/retention into the Teacher Education Program.
  • Process all applications for the Teacher Education Program (TEP).
  • Advise pre-admission (not yet admitted to the TEP) Elementary, Early Childhood and Exceptional Childhood majors.
  • Assist pre-admission Elementary, Early Childhood and Exceptional Childhood education majors with program choices.
  • Serve as advising liaison for the College of Education and other University colleges, departments and administrative services.
