The University received a five-year $2 million Title III grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant provides funds to purchase state of the art scientific equipment and complete renovation of the teaching laboratories. Southeast's biology program offers a B.S. in Biology with a choice of six options! In addition, you may seek the B.S. in Education - Biology or Unified Science/Biology. A small core of classes, plus option courses, and plenty of electives to choose from will help you tailor your study plans to meet your career goals.

Southeast Missouri State University is located at the head of the Mississippi River delta and just one mile from the river. Southeast Missouri is packed with freshwater habitat to study plants, animals, insects and invertebrates. Across the river is Bald Cypress swampland. To the south are wetlands and cropland. North of us lie oak and hickory deciduous forest. But we're not just ecology and wildlife. Our research ranges from viruses, to cell and molecular biology, and to ecology.
